Sara Pinkerton is a NCCPA board certified Physician Associate specializing in Endocrinology. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology at Arkansas Tech University, where she graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. She attended Christian Brothers University where she obtained a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and was a member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society. She also obtains a Limited Radiologic Technology license. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist (AACE), and the Arkansas Academy of Physician Assistants (ARAPA). She is a Fellow of the American Society of Endocrine Physician Assistants (FASEPA).
Sara has expertise with the latest diabetes therapies and technology, such as smart insulin pens, insulin pumps, CGM devices and artificial pancreas hybrid closed loop systems. Sara participates in clinical research at our onsite clinical research center.
Sara treats patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, parathyroid disorders and hypercalcemia, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, testosterone deficiency and osteoporosis. Sara’s schedule allows her to see urgent consultations without a long wait time.
Sara enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on road trips, cooking, and calling the hogs. In the summer, you can find her at the lake, where she enjoys skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and, of course, relaxing. In the winter, you can find her hitting the slopes in Colorado.
